Madrid in November 2025
With the Summer of 2025 coming to a close, fate handed us an opportunity to hit the road for a late fall trip to Madrid, Spain. When Radiohead announced a handful of shows in five European cities, we absolutely had to do whatever it took to attend one. We entered the drawing for the chance to acquire tickets. We registered for all five cities, and despite all odds, we were selected to have the opportunity to buy tickets for Bologna and Madrid. When tickets went on sale, we were able to score two tickets for the third night in Madrid, and so we were off for a quick three-day trip to Spain in November.
Madrid
Each day we set out to explore a different part of Madrid. On our arrival day, we walked through Puerta del Sol, the city's symbolic heart since the 16th century, through Plaza Mayor, which used to host bullfights, public executions, and various royal ceremonies, before eating our way through Mercado de San Miguel, which is known for its wide range of tapas and drink options. The next morning, we walked through the neoclassical Sabatini Gardens and checked out the beautiful Almudena Cathedral, which took over 100 years to build, before walking through the grandiose Palacio Real de Madrid, Western Europe's largest royal palace. Afterward, we had lunch at Restaurante Botín, one of the oldest restaurants in the world still operating, founded in 1725. In fact, Hemingway featured it in "The Sun Also Rises". On our final full day, we toured the world-famous Museo del Prado, home to over 8,000 paintings, including masterworks by Velázquez, Goya, and Bosch. This trip was a whirlwind, and we only scratched the surface of this city, but we loved the architecture, food, and people.
Radiohead
The highlight of this trip was our tickets to the third night of the Radiohead residency at Movistar Arena, but before we left, I was thankfully able to acquire a ticket for the fourth night as well. Being able to see my favorite band twice on back-to-back nights was incredible, and I'm incredibly grateful for the privilege of being there. Each performance was full of energy, the setlists were packed with my favorite songs, and I left feeling rejuvenated and thankful.
